My artwork ranges from still life images to fantasy compositions and landscapes both real and imagined. My creative process is not something I find easy to outline or document - I have a few tutorials you can view here which show the final layers of images I've created, but they don't really express why I made some important individual choices along the way. I don't sketch out an idea or a concept, I usually start with one image or one digital texture and basically set out on a journey; where that journey takes me is always a surprise! The techniques I use are standard photo-manipulation techniques, although I have made those techniques my own in the sense that most are streamlined to fit my own process - my photoshop eraser is used where most people would rather use a layer mask. I am self-taught, but have been using Photoshop since around 1990 since my day job is creating commercial art - I'm professional designer. I've been working in advertising and marketing for close to 32 years and as I like to say I'm professionally trained to have an overactive imagination!
